Is it a real-time live counter?
No, and we will not pretend it is. Instagram does not stream follower counts to anyone. We show the count at the moment of the check, with its time.
How do I get a newer number?
Look the account up again after a while, or use Refresh on a snapshot page.
Why don't you estimate the count between checks?
Estimates look live but are made up. We only show numbers that were actually read.
